Abuse and Neglect is defined “as a single or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person” Agewell New Zealand.

Ioana Mulipola, Nurse Educator for Adult Mental Health Community Services ADHB.
Ioana is a NZ Registered Nurse with a MNursing (Honors), Post Grad Dip Advance Nursing, Post Grad Certificate Health Science, BHSc (Nursing), and Graduate Certificate Career Development- AUT. Ioana has 10 years’ experience working in Mental Health Services. She is Samoan and is fluent in Samoan and English with an advance knowledge and expertise in mental health assessment, case manager, triage, and primary care liaison. She is currently the Nurse Educator for Adult Community Mental Health Services in Auckland District Health Board. Ioana is also a clinical and cultural supervisor for nurses.
